We use a purified protein which produces temporary muscle relaxation around a week after direct injection. Naturally-occurring toxins cause paralysis of a muscle when injected directly. Aftercare

The treatment involves a series of injections using an extremely fine (0.2mm diameter) needle. The combination of a superfine needle and good technique means that many patients do not feel the injections at all, even without local anaesthetic. Treatments only last a few minutes. Side effects are minimal and you can go straight back to work afterwards if you choose.

There are no known long-term harmful effects of toxin injections. Reported side-effects include mild weakness or the upper eyelid (ptosis) or brow, although these are rare and self-limiting.
You should not undergo toxin injections if you are pregnant, breast-feeding or have any neuromuscular condition. It is also not recommended if you are taking certain medications, including some antibiotics and blood pressure lowering tablets.

After toxin injections, patients notice the onset of muscle weakness after 2-3 days. The results become maximal at around 10 days after treatment where the chosen area will have have a firmer and smoother appearance.
