SURGICAL PROCEDURES
Fat Transfer (Fat Grafting)
USING MODIFIED LIPOSUCTION TECHNIQUES, THIS ADVANCED PROCEDURE IS GREAT FOR FACIAL REJUVENATION AND BREAST ENHANCEMENT.
Fat grafting involves removing unwanted fat from one area (such as tummy or thighs) and using it on another area of the body. It can be used as a natural method of enhancing breast volume. Surgical grafting technique is critical to a successful outcome of fat grafting. Fulvio is considered an expert in this technique, being asked to speak at national and cross-specialty meetings on its applications, so you know you are in safe hands.

KEY TREATMENT AREAS
Fat Transfer (Fat Grafting) surgery removes fat from areas such as tummy and thighs, and is used to enhance the appearance of areas such as the face and breasts. It can also improve the quality of damaged skin, scar tissue, or even skin pigmentation.
FULVIO’S ADVICE
Whilst Fat Grafting is a great way to achieve natural breast enhancement, only a limited amount of fat can be grafted in one go. Therefore you should not expect a dramatic increase in size after one treatment - 1 cup size increase is a good rule of thumb - although treatments can be repeated to achieve greater volume over time.
AFTERCARE
Following fat transfer you can gently mobilise and pain should be well controlled just with simple pain killers, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen. You should avoid excessive pressure on the fat grafted areas. If this is the breasts then you should wear a supportive (surgical) bra rather than a compressive (sports) bra.

Small amounts of fat are harvested from wherever you choose - commonly the abdomen, buttock or thigh, using 3-4 mm scars hidden in natural creases. The fat is then processed and injected into the areas requiring treatment. Fat Grafting technique is critical to a successful outcome. Fat contains living cells that must pick up a blood supply at their new location in order to survive for the long term. To achieve this, tiny fat globules are injected one at a time in lines, creating a 3D matrix of viable fat cells interspersed within your normal tissue. The process is labour intensive but is essential to prevent rapid loss of all your grafted fat. With a proper technique, between two thirds and four fifths of your fat graft volume should be retained permanently.

Historically there have been theoretical concerns that stem cells contained within Fat Graft could stimulate tumour growth if any tumour cells had developed - for instance, promoting breast cancer. However this has never been demonstrated, and over the years evidence has accumulated to indicate that Fat Grafting is a safe procedure without such effects. Some examples of the relevant medical literature are listed below.

Immediately after fat grafting you will notice bruising, both where fat has been taken from and where it is put. You will also notice swelling at both sites, and of course a volume increase resulting from the grafted fat. Around 1/3 of the volume of grafted fat will resorb over the first 1-3 months; whatever remains is not only permanent, but will behave however it would have done at its original location (i.e. respond to your weight fluctuations in the same way). If you wish fat grafting can be repeated as many times as you still have donor fat, resulting in a progressive volume increase at the intended site.
